Expedition
Hawaii, Big Island
Spiritual & Healing Traditions of Hawaii
August 24 - September 09, 2010
What we do on Hawaii
We walk along old Hawaiian paths, talk stories and Hawaiian legends, meditate on petroglyph fields, learn about old healing symbols, talk to Hawaiian Gods and Goddesses, dance hula in front of river of red lava, talk to Pele – Goddess of Volcano, walking though the craters, swim with wild dolphins in open Pacific Ocean or/and with Manta Ray in the night. We learn basic Hawaiian language, enjoy chanting traditional Hawaiian chants. We walk through Hawaiian jungle and visit old heiaus (temples), learning about different energies. We practice using Elements: Ha, Ahi, Honua, Wai and I'o and contact Awaiku in their traditional homes. If you like the idea - we visit the astronomy observatory and meditate on highest mountain in the world (counting from the base in the Pacific Ocean). We drive every day to different part of the island – our spiritual practices we do in Nature. In meantime we swim, dance, chant chants and enjoy life as much as we can
During the expedition we participate in traditional events, if possible. We meet Kama'aina - local Hawaiian people who teaches us the old style of Hawaiian life. We practice making fresh flower garlands - lei, tapa (fabric made from trees bark), experience Lomilomi massage, and taste Hawaiian traditional food. We learn about Hawaiian plants used until today in healing.
We practice traditional Hula dance and chant Hawaiian chants, talk stories and much more..
During both expedition there is possibility to take Lomilomi massage with Hawaiian Auntie. Mahalo Auntie!
